The Desert Bird of Paradise is a good, medium-sized, but very open-canopied and sparsely-foliated accent plant that attracts hummingbirds. It can grow 8-10 feet tall and 8 feet wide. The Desert Bird of Pardise is an evergreen with fern-like leaves and six to twelve pairs of bluish-green secondary leaflets. Festive yellow/red flower color in spring and fall. The stems and branches range from brown to reddish green in color. This plant thrives best in full sun and is heat and cold tolerant.
