Citrus - Lemon - Ponderosa

Ponderosa is likely the hybrid of a lemon and citron. The ‘Ponderosa’ is more characteristic of the citron than a lemon and is often grown as a garden ornamental. The fruit is the size of grapefruit and has a thick peel (they are huge fruits).  They can be left on the tree for months while maintaining their flavor.  The flavor is similar to a regular lemon and are great to cook with.  You could eat them fresh with a bit of Tajin too!  Slower growing trees, thick branches and thorny.  They make cool looking trees with the fruit hanging on them.
