Citrus - Kumquat - Nagami

Oval Kumquat is the Naga or Nagami kinkan of Japan.  It is oblong, obovate or oval in shape. It has a relatively small number of segments (four to five) and contains 2 to 5 seeds. Nagami fruit have a deep color and a distinctive flavor. This was the first kumquat to arrive in the Western world. Nagami’ is more oblong than the ‘Meiwa’, more acid in taste, and a brighter orange color. The ‘Nagami’ trees are used in home and commercial landscaping and are quite cold hardy.
